The Second Coming
‘The Second Coming’ by W.B.Yeats studies religious faith before and during the first world war and the strength that science gained within the 1900’s. Yeats attributes the falling of society due to the development of technology. I focused on relating Yeats’ ideas of how the development of technology has shaped our planet, into a modern-day context, such as the shift into the Anthropocene.
Referencing romantic poets such as Wordsworth and Blake, I wanted to create environments that were both immersive and strangely beautiful. Images below are coded visuals exploring what landscapes could exist within the Anthropocene - combining natural scenes and generative systems.
