MARK ANTHONY BURGOYNE
How is memory left in physical locations? Do natural and built environments hold memories - do these memories exist somewhere between our mind and the spaces we inhabit? These questions, among others, form an ongoing process of interrogation of the environment, initially through the medium of photography - working towards a photo book and installation which conceptualises debris as a memorial device.
These images represents the emergence of a new visual language in my work – realised through exploration of composition, abstraction and the development of exposure techniques which capture the way I see in-camera.
